Medicare

We're keen to get you seen! A lower-cost session can be the first step to 'get the ball rolling' in your speech therapy journey.

Eligible families can receive a Medicare rebate for (up to) 5 speech therapy sessions per year.

Although we don't bulk bill (you pay in full, then Medicare refund you part of the session cost), it does make sessions less expensive.

Griffith University offers significantly reduced therapy sessions.

How do I get a Medicare Plan?

Visit your GP and ask them if you can get a Care Plan (sometimes called a Chronic Disease Management Plan, previously an Enhanced Primary Care Plan) for 5 sessions.

The GP ultimately makes this decision and may agree or reject the suggestion, but it is always worth asking.

They can email us the referral form securely or bring it along to your first session.
